Shopping Bag Card - Pink

I posted this card last week in a different color.  You can visit Shopping Bag Birthday Card post for all of the details.  I LOVE this card!  I made this one for a friend as a special order.

This card is made with Pretty in Pink in place of Rose Red in the previous post.

Golf Cart Card

I LOVE this card!!  Our neighbor is turning 80 in a couple of weeks and we've been invited to his surprise party.  He doesn't play golf, but has 3 acres.  His house is in the middle with his garden in the back.  He uses his golf cart to cruise around on all the time.  I saw this on the demonstrator website from Christi Jo Waite and knew that was the card to make for him.

For the pattern, I printed a copy of the one I found and cut the template from that.  The clouds are punched from the Build a Cupcake Punch in Whisper White and sponged with Marina Mist ink.  The stamp is not Stampin' Up!   The golf cart is cut from Natural White card stock and sponged with Basic Black ink.  The grass is from Wild Wasabi card stock, sponged with Garden Green ink.  The wheels are 1" Basic Black circles and 1/2" Basic Grey circles.  The seat is 2 shortened word window punches (punch a regular size, then insert it back in to shorten it).  The small heart is from a hand held punch I have (non-Stampin' Up!).  The steering wheel is cut free hand (although you could probably use the end of the Modern Label punch).

The base is Natural White card stock and the first layer is Bashful Blue.

The clouds and golf cart were adhered with dimensionals.

Tea Cup Card

I made this little tea bag one day to go with a stamp that I had, but ended up not liking them together, so I decided to create a cup with punches.  I'm starting to really enjoy punch art (if you haven't been able to tell for those of you that follow me). :)

Card Stock:  Night of Navy, Very Vanilla, Melon Mambo, and Crumb Cake
Ink:  Night of Navy and Chocolate Chip
Folder:  Perfect Polka Dots
Punches:  Large Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, Small Heart, 3/4" Circle, 1/2" Circle Punch
Stamp Set:  Retired

Base is Night of Navy, cut with the Scallop Square Die
1st Layer:  Very Vanilla 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"; run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots folder
2nd Layer:  Melon Mambo 3 1/2" x 1/2"; "run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots folder
Scallop Circle - Punch with Night of Navy
Tea Cup:  Melon Mambo (I cut a 3" square and run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots folder before punching); Punch 1 - 1 3/8" Circle (cut off the top), cut a 3/4" x 3/4" square for base of tea cup, for the handle - I punched a 1/2" circle, then punched a 3/4" circle around that.
Heart:  Very Vanilla using the Small Heart Punch
Tea Bag:  I cut a 1/2" square from Crumb Cake, angled the top corners, sponged the bottom with Chocolate Chip ink, punched a very small hole in the top and ran a piece of linen thread through it and added a very small square piece of Whisper White card stock to the top for the tag.

I finished by using my white gel pen to add a small dot in each scallop

Mr. & Mrs. Card

This is a card I did for a Stampin' Up! Card Swap (post below).  It was a lot of fun to make.  I first did the one with the Very Vanilla trim on the towels, then did the one with the Night of Navy trim and liked it a bit better.

I found the basic idea on Confessions of a Stamping Addict

Card Stock:  Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Very Vanilla, and Basic Grey
Ink: Bashful Blue (sponging), Basic Grey (sponging towel bar and ends) and Night of Navy (stamping)
Stamp Set:  Petite Pairs
Punches:  Large Oval, Scallop Oval, Small Heart, 1/2" Circle, Scallop Square
Folder:  Perfect Polka Dots
Stampin' Write Marker:  Night of Navy
Adhesives:  Sticky Strip, Dimensionals, Glue Dots and Snail

Cut all of your pieces first and be sure to sponge the edges of all of your pieces before adhering together.

Base:  Bashful Blue 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"; scored at 4 1/4"
1st layer:  Night of Navy; cut 1/8" smaller on on all 4 sides
2nd layer:  Very Vanilla 4" x 5 1/4"; run through Perfect Polka Dot Folder
Towels: Bashful Blue - 1" x 3 1/2"; scored at 1 3/4" (run through Perfect Polka Dot folder); trim - cut 1" piece of card stock (from what ever color you choose for trim), insert into Scallop Square punch about 1/4".  Attached trim to back of towel.  Adhere the towel together with Sticky Strip
Towel Bar:  Basic Grey 1/4" x 3 1/2"; Ends - 1 1/2" circle cut in half.  Insert towel bar into towels, add a dimentional to each end of the towel bar and a small piece of a dimentional to the back of each End (1/2 circle)
Mr & Mrs:  Using the Night of Navy marker, brush over the "Mr" and "Mrs" and stamp on Very Vanilla card stock, punch using the Small Heart Punch; Attach to towel using a glue dot
Best Wishes: Cut 1 Scallop Oval with Bashful Blue; using the Mat Pack, pierce a hole in each scallop.  Stamp "Best Wishes" in Night of Navy onto Very Vanilla card stock, punch with Large Oval Punch; adhere with dimentionals.

Stampin' Up! Card Swap Event

I attended a meeting this morning with part of my upline from Stampin' Up!  There were 9 of us in attendance.  We do this a couple of times a year.  It's a great way of meeting fellow demonstrators, learning new techniques and seeing new products.  At today's event we did a card swap along with a couple of Make-n-Takes.  Interested in learning more about Stampin' Up!?  Click here for more information.  I'd love to have you join my team.

Here is the card I created to swap with the other demonstrators:

Top one has Very Vanilla trim on the towels and the one below has Night of Navy.  I did a separate post for this Mr. & Mrs. Card.

Here are the cards I received in return:

From Sue Myers

From Cindy Kemna

From Michelle Young

From Pam Logan

Isn't this purse adorable!!  I LOVE it!!  It's made with the Petite Purse Bigz L Die #125606.  The scallops around the top are made using the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch #119854

Here are the 2 Make-n-Take cards that we did:

The white patterned background is the new Argyle Folder #127750
Each of the flowers is supposed to have a pearl in it, but I couldn't get them to stay on.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Which is your favorite?

T-Shirt Cards

I loved making these cards.  They were a lot of fun.  These are a couple of Father's Day cards for this year.

This one is for our future son-in-law.  This is his first Father's Day and he's a Colts fan.  :)  That is where the name for their son, Colton came from.  :)

Card Stock:  Pacific Point and Whisper White

This one is for my husband who is a Jimmie Johnson fan.

Card Stock:  Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy

I made the template for this card after making the "shirt cards" I posted earlier.  I used a 1 3/8" circle punch for the neckline by only inserting it about 1/2 way.  The pocket is made from the Small Tag punch.  I just realized that I probably should have put the stripes on the back of the sleeves as well.

The letters are from a Die Cut set that I bought at Joann Fabrics earlier this year.

Here is the pattern:

Shirt Cards

I love these cards and they are SO easy to make!  I found the tutorial here.  They would make a great "masculine" card for any occasion.  You could even make this for a female as well.  I will be giving one of these as a Father's Day card and the other as a Birthday Card.

These are made using Stampin' Up! 12" 12" Designer Series Paper, which is all printed on both sides.

My New Serger

My kids and hubby are so awesome!!  We were supposed to go to our youngest daughter's house for Mother's Day this year, but since I didn't feel well, they all came to our house.  :)  They all went together and got me a serger!!  I've had such a busy few weeks with my Grandpa being ill that we've not even had time to figure out where I'm going to put it in my craft room.  We are going to have to rearrange some things and I'm going to need to find a table to put it on.  I'm really excited to learn how to use it.

Our oldest daughter is expecting her 3rd baby in December.  I'm anxious to find out if it's a boy or girl so I can get busy sewing.  We're keeping our fingers crossed for a boy as she already has 2 girls, but we'll be just as happy if it's a girl.  :)

If you have any serger tips for me, please feel free to share them in the comments.

Do you have a serger?  What do you use yours for the most?
