Color Street Mixed Mani - Home Sleet Home with Munich Mulberry

For this mani I pulled out some of my extras. Color Street does not recommend saving extra strips or guarantee them if they have been resealed. However, most stylists and customers don't want to waste them, so we re-seal the package with our straightener, put them in a plastic baggie and store them in the freezer. Make sure they are room temperature or warm before you apply them.

For this mani I used Munich Mulberry, Home Sleet Home, Only in Vegas and Between the Lines.

Happy Planner Classic Weekly Spread

This week in my Happy Planner Classic Squad Plans I did a pastel spread. I like this planner, but do wish the weekly pages were neutral. I have a neutral planner that starts in July and I’m so anxious to use it.

I made the journaling sticker bases from lightweight card stock and put stickers on top of them. The circles, I used my 1 1/2” circle punch. I fold the card stock in 1/2, turn the punch upside down and slide it into the punch almost to the top so you don’t cut through the fold so that it will open. See photos below.

Decorated Planner Cart Storage Cups

These planner cart cups were so much fun to decorate! After taking these pictures I decided to decorate the sides as well. (I did take one picture with the sides, but it was too dark out to re-take all of them) I used mostly stickers from the Happy Planner Miss Maker sticker books. I purchased these cups at Walmart a couple of years ago by the shower caddies.

The “tags” they have on these with the bar code are horrible to get off and of course they have them on the front instead of on the bottom. I finally heated them up with my hair dryer, peeled it off and sprayed them with Goo Gone and then washed them well.

Lady Bug Happy Planner Classic Weekly Spread

I had a lot of fun creating this spread.  My niece's birthday was this week and she loves lady bugs. With these planner pages being partially decorated it definitely makes it more challenging.

The lady bug stickers I purchased at Hobby Lobby. The date covers I used a circle punch with red card stock. I cut the base of the journaling cards from lightweight card stock and used my Happy Planner box punch with scrapbook paper and adhered them to the top and added the lady bug stickers.

Happy Planner Homebody Mini Weekly Spread

This week for Memorial Day week, I used a sheet of scrapbook paper on the left side. I use this as my On The Go planner. Although things are starting to open up, things are pretty slow. This is the busy season at work and I tend to work a little later. With never knowing what time I’m getting off, it’s hard to make plans except for the weekend.

Happy Planner Classic Weekly Spread

Well, due to the virus, I didn't have much going on this week, so it's mostly just decoration. 😊  I made the journaling sticker bases out of lightweight card stock. This is the Squad Plans lined vertical planner. A lot of the stickers are from the Squad Plans sticker book.  Others are from various Happy Planner sticker books, Etsy sticker shops and stickers I made for personal use.

Happy Planner Mini Dashboard Layout

This week in my Mini Happy Planner Homebody Dashboard Layout I used the sticker book Year to Shine. With navy blue being my favorite color, I love this sticker book. I don't care for the left side of the dashboard layout, so I used the back side of the daily pages that I purchased in a package. Sometimes I'll cut a piece of scrapbook paper to fit. I got that idea from Heather Kell. It's not one of my favorite spreads, but it's not bad. It's more for decoration since we're just now starting to open things back up due to the virus.

Sara Elizabeth Prints is one of my favorite Etsy sticker shops. She has quality stickers and has sales often. I have really gotten into the colorful boxes lately.  With being a Color Street Stylist, I tend to use a lot of the nail polish stickers. πŸ’…πŸ» And, are those shopping bags adorable?  I'm ready to get back into the craft stores and do some shopping.

Color Street Mixed Mani - Moon River

Moon River is one of my favorite sets. I tend to like the darker glitters. They seem to go with most anything I'm wearing.  I love using Tiny and Shiny over a solid for an accent color. In this mani I used Himalayan Salt, Tiny and Shiny with Moon River.

Due to the Pandemic, nail sets on the website are currently limited due to Color Street having to work half staffed. With the salons being closed, our businesses are booming and they are struggling to keep up.  However they are constantly making changes to get sets into their stylists hands.  They've added extra shifts, purchased additional machines and making it easier for the stylists to order when they have a restock.  This company and their product are absolutely amazing!!  If you have any questions, you can contact me via my website above.

Happy Planner Classic May Monthly

As with most of us, most, if not all of our plans have been cancelled. I decided to put them in my monthly anyway. I kept the decorating simple. This is in my Classic Squad Plans Happy Planner.  There are several of these stickers I made myself for personal use.

Missing You Today and Happy Birthday in Heaven stickers are from Gold Paper Prints.

Happy Planner Classic Weekly Spread

This week in my Squad Plans Classic Happy Planner I used stickers from the pastel mega sticker book. For the weekend, I used a long journaling sticker. If you follow my blog, you know I use a lot of functional stickers from sticker shops. I forgot to open it up and take a picture before the pen. I got busy decorating the spread and forgot a few things that had happened through the week, so I put everything inside that journaling sticker. For me, this planner is like a memory planner without pictures. I plan what actually happened for the week. I have a mini that I use for on the go to plan my week.

Handmade Baby Boy Gifts

I have a new grandson due in June. As soon as I found out the gender in December, I started making things. My daughter’s baby shower was supposed to be April 25th, but that has been changed to an online party. I bought 2 plastic tubs, one for handmade items and one for purchased baby gifts. This week I have to purchase another tub for purchased gifts. 😊 With this virus, I do miss baby shopping. I have ordered several things through Kohl’s.

I'm looking forward to his arrival. I'm really hoping that this virus is under control by then so I can be at the hospital when he is born. πŸ‘ΆπŸ»

I love making baby things. I have a local organization that I make things and donate to throughout the year and have for a few years.  Check out my post Quick and Easy Baby Gifts.

I found this pattern on a skein of yarn several years ago. It's really easy.
It's easy to put down and pick back up later.  The pattern is for single crochet. I did so I did double crochet on this one.

Receiving blankets - double sided flannel, zigzagged them together.

Fleece blankets - I rounded the corners, stitched 1" in all the way around, then snipped the fringe all the way around.

 Mittens

.

Lovely blankets - 12" square, double sided flannel, rounded corners , zig zagged together.

Rice bags, door latch cover, pee pee teepee

Washcloths - 7" square - flannel/ terry cloth, rounded corners, zig zagged together.

Burp cloths

I love this bib pattern. I will be making him more.

Smaller burp cloths.

Taggies, pacifier clip and pacifier holder.

Quick and Easy Baby Gifts To Sew

I love making baby things and have for a long time.  I have 5 grandbabies and #6 due in June.  I made things for all of them, except for one and she didn't join our family until she was a toddler.  I also make and donate to a local organization.  I met the founder shortly after she started Lil Miracles and have enjoyed watching it grow into what it is today.  They are definitely a positive addition to our community.  When I was younger I enjoyed the more challenging projects.  As I've gotten older, I tend to prefer the quick and easy projects.  If I had the pattern saved, I have linked it below.  Some of these are basic and don't need a pattern.

Here are my go to patterns:

Pee Pee TeePee - They work, but are more of a funny gift for new boy mom's.  :)

Door Latch Cover - These are super simple and a great use of scraps.

Baby Bib - I love this bib pattern.  I'd been searching to something that didn't require snaps or velcro.  This bib has elastic around the next.  Easy on, easy off.  I hate setting snaps and velcro get stuck on everything when washing it.

Lovey Blanket - this is a very small blanket that they can carry around without tripping over it.  I make mine out of flannel.  12" x 12", round the corners and zigzag around the edge.  Quick and easy.

Taggies - I make them either a 6" or 7" square.  I make mine out of flannel, but you could use most any fabric.  I put right sides together and add 2 or 3 ribbons on each side.  Stitch around the edge, leaving and opening for turning.  Press, and top stitch around.

Receiving Blanket - I usually use 1 1/2 yards of flannel, round the corners and zigzag around the edge in a coordinating color of thread.

Burp Cloths - I have 2 different patterns I use for these.  I don't turn them, I make both sides out of flannel, put wrong sides together and zigzag around the edge.  I can't find the pattern that I used for the smaller ones.  There are plenty of patterns on Pinterest to choose from.

Washcloths - I make them 7" square.  I've seen other patterns or 8" or 9" squares.  I use flannel on one side and terry cloth on the other.  I round the corners and zigzag around the edge.

Baby Mittens - I've made a lot of these over the years.  They are great for using up scraps. (pattern I used is no longer available online)

Fleece Blanket - I use 1 - 1 1/2 yards of fleece.  I round the corners, stitch all the way around about 1' - 1 1/4" in.  Then I'll snip fringe all the way around.

Quilted Look Blanket - I use 1 1/2 yards of flannel that has a square printed pattern on one side and a coordinating flannel on the other.  I sew them together, wrong sides together, with a zigzag stitch all the way around. Then, I'll use 3 strands of embroidery floss to "tie" in the squares.

I've also done this with stitching in 1 - 1/14" with wrong sides together, then snipping the edge for fringe.

Pacifier Clip - You can whip these up in about 5 minutes.  SO easy. (See photo at top)

Fleece Hat - I also make these in all sizes to donate to the local homeless shelter along with scarves. I don’t have a picture of this one.
