Handmade for Baby Bentley

When I found out earlier this year that our oldest daughter was expecting her 3rd baby, I'd planned on making a lot of things, especially after finding out she was finally going to get her boy.  However, this year seemed to fly by and I didn't end up making much at all.

This is my favorite baby blanket to make.  I found the pattern on Sew Much Ado.  I use 1 to 1-1/4 yards of flannel for each side.  I round the corners (tracing around a 9" paper plate) and with wrong sides together, I sew around the entire blanket using a 1" to 1 1/4" seam allowance.  I then cut "fringe" all the way around.

I like using a print for the front that I can "tie" like you would a quilt using embroidery floss.

Before Washing

 After Washing

This is a small fleece blanket to use in a car seat or swing.  I used a 1/4 yd of 2 different fleece fabrics, cut the fringe and tied them together.

This is my favorite burp cloth pattern to use.  Very quick and easy!  Instead of sewing right sides together and turning, I sewed wrong sides together and cut "fringe" all the way around.  I don't have an "after washing" photo to share.

Our newest grandbaby was born a month early on November 2.  Luckily, he was a healthy weight at 6lbs, 6oz, but he spent 11 days in the NICU due to his lungs being under developed.  He is now home and doing wonderful!  Bentley is our 4th grandbaby and our 2nd grandson.  What a blessing they all are!

There is no other feeling in the world like being a grandparent.  They touch places in your heart that you didn't even know you had.  :)

Antique Car Punch Art Card

I made this for my long time friend's birthday who loves antique cars.

This was fun to create.  I found the idea on Pinterest that had been pinned from a post on Splitcoast Stampers by: ruby-heartedmom

I used all Stampin' Up! papers (Marina Mist, Basic Grey, Basic Black and Whisper White).  Other Stampin' Up! items used:  Top Note Die, Modern Label Punch, Circle Punches, Large Oval and Word Window.  She used a larger oval punch for the "grill", which looked better, but a punch I don't have.
